Goodbye 2013, you were so good to me.

It's been a long year, but a good one at that. Of course there were some rough patches along the way, but we made it! I think it would be safe to say that 2013 has definitely been a favorite year of mine, even though... looking back it feels like we did a lot of nothing!

December 27, 2012 we got engaged, so in January we got some pictures done(:
Having my husband take pictures is almost like pulling teeth.
I am really hoping he grows out of this.

 He surprised me with a gorgeous new engagement ring and wedding band.

We went to Super Cross this year and watched the amazing Ryan Villopoto win!

We went to San Diego, my first time!
We also toured a Navy Aircraft Carrier

 We spent our second Christmas together!

We bought our first car together, my baby.. Blue(:

We spent a lot of time at Mt. Charleston playing in the snow!

Five day break recap!

From my previous phone dump, you probably already know how well Christmas turned out for us! But I didn't just have Christmas day off to enjoy, I had a whole five days off of work to do whatever my little heart desired.

{t h u r s d a y}

The day after Christmas is usually a very depressing day for me. I have to come to the realization that the beautiful holiday is over and I have to wait 364 days for it to be back again. But to make my mood better I decided to do a little retail therapy while hubby was at work. Okay, really a return spree. I went to Ulta to return the Too Faced eye shadow palette  I received and exchanged it for my Smashbox palette. I love this palette, I have only used it two times, but I really like the pigmentation and how smooth it is, and how long it lasts! I go all day without having to touch up my eyes! A little definitely goes a long way!
Then I went to cycle gear to try to return the freeze out gear that Austins grandmother got him for Christmas, I had the receipt, but they wouldn't give me cash for it. So she has to return it herself so it goes back to the card the items were purchased on, then she'll give him cash. She lives about an hour away.
Then I went to Kohl's where I tried to return a coffee maker my mother got me {because we already got the Keurig}. I had trouble returning the machine for a while because they were trying to give me a whole $8 for the coffee maker my mother paid almost $70 for!  Anyway, I finally got store credit back, and did a little shopping for wall decor to go above my TV. I found these little diamond mirrors:

looks a lot better in person, there is a glare from the windows ):
{whats on TV you ask? Well as you will read below, my Sunday consisted of watching the whole first and only season of Orange is The New Black!}

I had Cafe Zupas with my husband that day, I love that place for their chocolate covered strawberries, and I ate four. Its rare that I have chocolate covered strawberries and actually like the chocolate it's dipped in, but Cafe Zupas wins! I am craving them right now.

After lunch I worked up the courage to drag myself to the dreaded busy outlet mall. I had to park a mile and a half away from the one store that I needed to go into... Fossil. If I wanted to wear my beautiful new watch, I had to get links taken out, otherwise it would slide right off. Finally that errand was checked off my list and I had 2 hours before my husband was off work. I needed to go find a Keurig cup carousal. I looked in 2 Kohl's, Wal-Mart, Home Goods, Ross, and Finally Target. I finally, and took the LAST carousal that this Target had! We have about 100 cups, and this thing only holds 27. Oh well..

Friday Austin had to work again, so I figured I would go get the massage from Aveda that Austin's grandmother got me and do some stuff around the house. Well Aveda didn't open until 10am so I went into Ross and shopped around a little bit. I love that store! I can always find some awesome things for my home in there! Then I went into Bath and Body works. I didn't realize they were having their Semi Annual Sale until I saw a big 50% off sign while walking by. I went in and saw that hand soaps were $3 each, so I grabbed 2! I have lotion in every room of my house and in my kitchen and bathrooms I have the best soaps! I love when my guests use them!
At 10 I went into Aveda and scheduled my massage appointment for 2. Then I went to Target and stocked up on those $1 E.L.F brushes.
I went home and took down my tree and all my Christmas Decorations. Seeing my beautiful tree empty and knowing Christmas was officially over made me sad, so it had to go! Until next year beautiful tree!
Before my massage I went to Rubios with my husband for lunch. I love Mexican food(:

So this was the first time I ever had a {professional} massage. It was amazing. I had this awesome lady, Torres {is her name} who was just awesome! I let her know this was my first time getting a massage, and she explained how it would work and what she would be doing and made me feel very comfortable. I was so relaxed and just enjoyed the whole experience. Definitely something I would do again!

Later that night we went to dinner with Austins dad, sister and his sisters boyfriend then went to his parents house to check out his dads new Asian Water Monitor. When his mom got home, her and I sat there and talked for a couple hours and drank and entire bottle of wine. ha ha.

{s a t u r d a y}

Saturday morning Austin and I ran a couple errands, then we picked up his sister {her breaks are out on her car} and went to the Fashion Show mall to Victoria's secret so she could exchange a jacket and I could get my 7 for $26! I love VS panties(:

Then we dropped her off at home and picked up lunch and went home and ate. Austin hung the new mirrors, and then we took a nap, haha! Later that night we got a call from Austin's long time friend Jake, who is in the army but is home for holiday leave. He asked us if we wanted to go to the Stratosphere with him and his girlfriend that night!  We sure did! They came to our apartment around 9 and we left a few minutes later. Austin and I usually stay away from the strip. We have gone to the Paris, and we go to the fashion show on occasions, but we tend to do things away from the strip, because 1. He doesn't like people. Especially foreign tourists. 2. Things are way overpriced. 3. Vegas is more entertaining if you're 21, which we are not. So I was surprised when he wanted to go! He didn't really know what you did at the Stratosphere so I had to explain that it was a lot like Paris, except a way larger space, and higher! {He doesn't particularly like heights}. He knew there were rides up there, but we are wussies so we didn't even consider those things. Jake and his girlfriend, Michelle, rode every ride though.  Vegas is really beautiful at night, and I am glad this is another thing my husband and I did together!

{s u n d a y}

LAZY SUNDAY in the Failes household! It was great! We watched 12 episodes of Orange is the New Black on Netflix while I did like 11 loads of laundry! We only left the house one time, and it was to get our new....lizard. Yup. Austin decided that he wanted an Asian Water Monitor like his father :(. This is sad for me for a couple reasons. 1. I really liked our bearded dragons. 2. Monitors are not as nice or tame as beardies. 3. That means we have to get a bigger cage. Ugh. He let me name her though, so because she is mostly green and my favorite childhood cartoon was Rugrats our new monitor's name is Reptar! I actaully enjoyed how relaxing and easy Sunday was. I could use more days like this.

Christmas phone dump

I had an amazing Christmas! I spent the whole day with my awesome husband and our families! I wouldn't have had it any other way! I wish it hadn't gone by so fast! I'm not sure if I can wait another 364 days for Christmas to role around again!

I also got some awesome goodies! My phone pictures probably does no justice!

I have asked for this purse(or purses similar)for 2 or 3 years! I'm not kidding! You couldn't imagine my excitement when I opened the box from my awesome husband who was able to keep this a secret from me for almost a month!
We suck at taking pictures most of the time. But we are still a pretty cute couple!

Pretty new watch, and nails polished.
My husband isn't the best when it comes to picking things out for other people, so I was totally surprised at how awesome he made my stocking, and his first stocking! He must know me best. I got a new coffee mug, eyelashes, scenty scents, candy & car air fresheners!

Him opening his brand new Batwolf Oakleys! He smashed the pair I got him for his birthday, during his accident, so I got him a cooler pair. These were the last present he opened and it was in the bottom of the stocking. I like throwing big  surprises in the stocking sometimes!

This is what else filled his stocking: candy, $25 visa,beef jerky, toothbrushes, and tweezers(because he used mine), and gum.
For a long long time I have wanted the Kate spade "mrs" necklace, well Santa heard and brought me not only the beautiful necklace, but also the earrings! I just love them. This Santa was actually Austin's grandparents. This necklace means a lot to me because it symbolizes my new life in a way. I am a mrs, I am his mrs & I love that. I also love that his grandmother got it for me. In a way it shows that she totally loves and accepts me into the family whether I knew that before or not.

Clothes. What girl doesn't love sweaters, true religions, and yoga pants?! I was over the moon with my new jeans! I def needed them!

My mother in law works at Victoria's Secret, so I knew is get some awesome goodies. This lotion smells amazing, the hairspray is awesome and I love phone cases. My favorite is the phone case/wallet! Super cute! Eye shadow is also very cute!
Rice cooker because we eat rice with everything! Haha! Austin's grandmother got us this! I actually can't wait to try it out! We now have every kitchen appliance EXCEPT for a blender! Lol
Kind of better picture of my amazingly beautiful Fossil watch with double row of crystals. I am in love with the rose gold color. It's simple and elegant!I had to get four links taken out so I wear it without it falling off. My parents did great!(:
Gold bracelets to go with my gold watch. I like chunky pieces like these!

Cute Kate Spade boxes(:
Awesome OPI nail polish set that I already put to good use! The eyelashes from hubby & the blue bow is for my car!

I asked for a new iPad case, and I got the  perfect one from my beautiful sister!
Mason jar shot glasses. If this doesn't say Summer and Austin, then I don't know what does. His sister bought these for us! Super cute!

Eye shadow story: I really REALLY wanted the naked 3 palette, but when my mom went to buy it, it was not available yet so she got me too faced, really pretty colors but a little too much shimmer for me. So today I took it back expecting to exchange it for naked 3, but  when I looked at naked I realized I would never use most the colors. But I really liked Naked 2, of course that was sold out. So I ended up seeing this smash box palette & really liked it! So we will see how it goes!(:

Because everyone got us cups when they found out about the new Keurig! I love it!
True religion perfume! Yummmmm!
Candy, mug & car fresheners!

And lastly, more true religion perfume & a gift card for a massage at a salon near me!(:

I made out for Christmas that's for sure! But I really loved that everyone liked what we got them! As I get older I start to find giving a little bit more fun! I enjoy being able to spoil the ones I love & the ones that have spoiled me for so long!(:
