My Oakley

I haven't posted in weeks.. I know, shame on me.

So if you know me and my husband you know that we have been looking for a dog for a while. We actually had a Yorkie for a short three days at one point.. which made us want a dog even more. My husband is not a small dog person, he likes mid-size/big dogs like Boxers, and Huskies. So getting another Yorkie, was out of the question for him.

We went to the Animal Foundation Shelter out here, and only found Pit-Bulls and Chihuahuas(not the dogs for us, at all)... and there aren't many other rescues or animal shelters out here that had the perfect dog for us. So we kept our eye on Craigslist. Here's my thing with Craigslist.. it's so sketchy. People don't care about the animals they are re-homing, they only care about the money they are getting for the pets, and they are big fat liars. We contacted many many people from ads, just to find out they were asking a ridiculous amount of money for puppies, or they would tell us they wanted to meet up with us so we could see the puppy, and then stand us up. I was seriously on the verge of giving up on the search for the perfect puppy.

My husband was talking to this lady he found on Craigslist for a couple days who had a female Husky pup, only 3 months old. She was beautiful. Originally this lady was asking $800 for the puppy, and even though that might be standard for a pure bred husky, we just couldn't see ourselves spending $800 right now on a dog, so my husband talked her down to half of that. After a couple of days of not texting us back, and not answering her phone, and standing us up she called. Friday at dinner, right as I was telling my husband that we should put the money back into the bank account, we got a call from her telling us that we could pick the puppy up that night, then she texted us her address!

I really couldn't and wouldn't believe this until we got to bring the puppy home, I was skeptical at that point. But everything fell into place perfectly! When we got to her house she walked out holding a three month old pure bred black and white husky. She has beautiful sky blue eyes that seriously makes you just fall in love with her. She was very quiet and calm and just seemed like a perfectly happy dog. The lady gave us her crate, took the money and the husky pup was ours!

Saturday morning we took her to Petco, got her a beautiful tiffany blue collar with rhinestones, let her meet Austins family and then went to the Vet to get her checked out. The doctor said she looked perfectly healthy!

We named her Oakley. And she is perfect, and she is all ours!
