If you don't serve, honor those who do!

Saturday morning I woke up and went on twitter a little bit. I read something that a girl posted about her wedding. One of her fiancés groomsmen asked to wear his blues to the wedding and she didn't want him to because "he will stand out". This pissed me off a little bit, let me tell you why.

1. I get that your wedding is your day, I totally do. I have a huge ceremony and reception planned for my husband and myself, but I want EVERYONE that is attending happy. That is what will make me happy. My Maid of Honor will stand out a little in a red dress while my other bridesmaids where black. I even told them if they wanted a little extra something they could totally do it. Same goes for the groomsmen. Don't be the stuck up, stubborn and controlling bride. No one will respect that.

2. He wants to wear his blues to your freaking wedding. If one of my husbands groomsmen asked me if they could wear their blues to the wedding instead of the tuxes we have picked out, I would feel honored. Of course he can wear his blues. I am a huge military supporter, and not only because my husband is joining the Navy. I have the outmost respect for any man or woman in the military!

3. More guests are going to be in awe that you have a groomsman in his blues rather than all the groomsmen all looking the same. A lot of people support the military, and I think that if you are worried about what people will think, they will be way more disappointed in you if you asked him NOT to wear his blues than if he wore them!

I know its just and outfit, but that outfit portrays a lot.

Because of the government shut down, the military is having troubles getting guys out to MEPS. So Saturday morning, after the twitter fiasco, I was driving home from Wal-Mart and noticed kids in military uniform on the corner asking for donations to help get them to MEPs. I drove by because I was on a green light, so I turned around and gave one of the boys all the change I could find. Unfortunately I didn't have any cash. These kids want to do something with their lives. These kids want to do something for our country. Just like my husband.

If I'm not serving, I can definitely do what I can for those who are!
